Navalny's supporters were searched

Today in Moscow, searches were carried out in the apartments of at least a dozen supporters of Alexei Navalny.

In the Moscow apartment of Navalny himself, who is in a pre-trial detention center, they were the first to come with a search - as FBK director Ivan Zhdanov wrote, the brother of the opposition leader Oleg was in the apartment.

Zhdanov announced the search on his Twitter.

Zhdanov stressed that for what reason the security forces came to break the door to Navalny's apartment is unclear. But according to Baza , the search may be related to a case of violation of sanitary and epidemiological standards at a rally on January 23. The head of the FBK confirmed this - all searches of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are carried out according to Art. 236 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Violation of sanitary and epidemiological rules). Baza sources also claimed that investigators plan to conduct searches at the homes of "all representatives of the FBK, including Lyubov Sobol."

Less than an hour later, the security forces actually came to the Navalny Live studio and the FBK.

Zhdanov also said that they had come to Alexei Navalny's wife, Yulia, with a search. The oppositionist's wife recorded a video showing the police trying to force the door down.

Navalny is now in a pre-trial detention center at the request of the Federal Penitentiary Service - the department claims that he violated the terms of the probationary period in the Yves Rocher case. The main trial to change the probation to a real one will be held on February 2, but the appeal against the oppositionist's detention will be considered on January 28.

By 6:15 pm Moscow time, the police were conducting searches simultaneously at 11 addresses, RTVI reported. A search came to Pussy Riot member Maria Alyokhina, as well as to the apartment of Alexei Navalny's press secretary Kira Yarmysh and Navalny's attending physician Anastasia Vasilyeva.

Novaya Gazeta reported Wednesday evening that Alyokhina and activist Konstantin Kotov had stopped communicating. Kotov is supposedly (according to the geolocation of the phone) located in Vnukovo.
