The ex-coordinator of Navalny's headquarters in Arkhangelsk was detained on charges of promoting Nazism.

Police officers detained the ex-coordinator of Navalny's headquarters in Arkhangelsk Andrei Borovikov on January 30 on the street. A protocol was drawn up against him under the article on propaganda of Nazism (Part 1 of Article 20.3 of the Administrative Code). Local activists reported this to OVD-Info.

The reason for the protocol was a video on VKontakte with a parody of the intro of the television series “Friends,” which Borovikov published in 2014. Borovikov was detained pending trial; his relatives gave him food at the police station.

• On September 29, 2020, security forces conducted a search of Borovikov in connection with the distribution of pornography because of the video clip. When the headquarters coordinator told the employees that he would let them in after the lawyer arrived, the law enforcement officers replied that they were not obliged to wait for him. Police officers recruited one of the volunteers from Navalny’s headquarters to testify in the case. “He experienced great agony after seeing the Rammstein video, he went to the police himself and wrote a statement,” MBKh Media reported Borovikov’s words.
• At the beginning of September 2020, the coordinator of Navalny’s headquarters in Arkhangelsk, Andrei Borovikov, was fined for promoting drugs on the Internet (Article 6.13 of the Administrative Code). The court found it in a video with Decl’s song posted on Borovikov’s VKontakte page.
• In September 2019, the Oktyabrsky District Court of Arkhangelsk found Borovikov guilty under Article 212.1 of the Criminal Code (repeated violations of the established procedure for holding an action). He was sentenced to 400 hours of compulsory labor. A criminal case was opened after the activist’s participation in several peaceful protests against the construction of a landfill at Shies station. The appellate court upheld the verdict unchanged.
