The Yakut City Court upheld the claim of the republican psychoneurological boarding school for the forced hospitalization of shaman Alexander Gabyshev. Aleksey Pryanishnikov, coordinator of Human Rights Postcard, told Mediazona about this.

As Pryanishnikov said, the shaman’s defense included in the materials the opinion of an independent psychiatrist, who came to the conclusion that there were no indications for Gabyshev’s hospitalization, as well as signs of the disease that he was diagnosed with.

At the same time, the court rejected requests to conduct a comprehensive psychological and psychiatric examination in another region and to call an independent psychiatrist from Moscow.

Earlier on January 28 , it became known that Gabyshev was again taken to a psychoneurological boarding school. Shortly before this, the shaman announced that he would again go on a campaign to Moscow to “drive out” Vladimir Putin.

“In the statement of claim, the psychiatric dispensary asked to hospitalize Gabyshev involuntarily, justifying this by the fact that recently, against the backdrop of refusal of treatment, he again began to make loud statements to the media. This is a quote from the statement of claim,” Pryanishnikov said.

The shaman’s first trip to Moscow took place in the summer of 2019. However, then Gabyshev was detained at the border of Buryatia and returned to Yakutia, where he was sent to a mental hospital, having been declared dangerous because of the idea of ​​“harming the government and overthrowing Putin.” In the summer of 2020, the shaman was released.
