The Main Moscow Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported on the detention of a 26-year-old man on suspicion of setting fire (Article 167 of the Criminal Code) to the wheel of a National Guard vehicle during a protest on January 31. “The fire was immediately localized, there were no casualties,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs clarified.

On January 31, Baza and RIA Novosti wrote about the arson of a security forces car in the center of Moscow. At the same time , Baza published photographs of a burnt police minibus, not the National Guard.

At the same time, on January 31, the city department of the National Guard confirmed the fire in the departmental vehicle and reported that “the cause of the incident, according to preliminary information, was technical problems.” The capital's Emergency Situations Ministry added that the car, which was running, probably caught fire due to a short circuit.
