Actor Christopher Plummer, Oscar and Golden Globe winner for his role in the film Beginners, has died.

Canadian actor Christopher Plummer has died. It is reported by Variety.

Plummer was 91 years old. The actor died at his home in the US state of Connecticut, the causes of his death are not specified.

• Plummer is best known for his roles in The Sound of Music, Return of the Pink Panther, 12 Monkeys, A Beautiful Mind, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.
• Plummer received the greatest critical acclaim for his role in the film Beginners, released in 2011 - in the film, the actor played at the age of 82. For this work, he was awarded an Oscar, a Golden Globe and a Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Supporting Actor.
