Multimillion -dollar thefts were detected in the Research Institute of Tuberculosis in Novosibirsk

A criminal case was instituted in Novosibirsk due to multimillion-free embezzlement at the Tuberculosis Research Institute of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation. Four people became suspects, including the former director of the institution Vladimir Krasnov.

The Novosibirsk security forces revealed large frauds with the supply of medical and drugs for the Federal State Budgetary Institution “Novosibirsk Research Institute of Tuberculosis” of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Kommersant writes with reference to sources.

The episodes that fell into a criminal case took place when the institute was led by Vladimir Krasnov, who left the post in 2019.

FSBI "Novosibirsk Research Institute of Tuberculosis" of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation is the only Federal Center for Combating this disease.

The scheme consisted in the procurement of medders at high prices at suppliers affiliated with the leadership of the Research Institute. The amount of estimated damage is more than 80 million rubles. Vladimir Krasnov is suspected of assigning entrusted funds on an especially large scale (part 4 of article 160 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and the legalization of funds received by criminal means (part 4 of article 174.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The preventive measure was not elected to him.

This is the second criminal case of Krasnov, who led the research institute for 30 years. He is also suspected of embezzlement of furniture, which was illegally written off from the institution and transferred to the affiliated company.
