Chronicle of February 8: the main thing

In Moscow and the region: - three new defendants were charged in the “sanitary case”: municipal deputy Konstantin Yankauskas, FBK employee Nikolai Lyaskin (lawyer from OVD-Info Sergei Telnov) and Navalny’s press secretary Kira Yarmysh; - Mediazona chief editor Sergei Smirnov had his sentence reduced from 25 to 15 days; - the court terminated the administrative case of DOXA editor Alla Gutnikova due to errors in the protocol - however, the court’s website states that the case was terminated due to the “death of the person involved”; - PEC member Vadim Zubkov was arrested for 10 days - he was identified from CCTV cameras and found guilty of participating in an action that resulted in disruption of infrastructure (Part 6.1 of Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code) on January 23; - the municipal deputy of the Ostankino district, Pavel Kirikov, was detained: a live cartridge was allegedly found at his home. That same evening, Kirikov received a message from an unfamiliar number with the text “Evening at the house.” The detainee was released at night. Kirikov was defended by OVD-Info lawyer Dmitry Zakhvatov; - at TsVSIG “Sakharovo” one of those released was not returned personal belongings; - in the TsVSIG in Yegoryevsk near Moscow there are good conditions, but there is no proper access to boiling water, and relatives and volunteers are forced to wait for several hours in the cold for a meeting or the opportunity to make a transfer. In St. Petersburg: - the court canceled the 10 days of arrest for participation in the action on January 31, previously assigned to David Sepashvili. He was defended by the “Apology of Protest” - lawyer Varvara Mikhailova and lawyer Maria Zyryanova; - citizen of Belarus Oleg Klimchuk, after 8 days of arrest, was taken to the Investigative Committee and charged with insulting a government official (Article 319 of the Criminal Code), then released on his own recognizance. the case of repeated violation of rally legislation against Lyudmila Borisova was dismissed. She was defended by Apology of Protest lawyer Nona Beketova.

In Vladivostok, the leadership of SamSTU made changes to the internal code of ethics - now it provides for expulsion from the university for participating in a rally.

In Samara it is reported that the head of Navalny’s headquarters, Alexei Gresko, will be forcibly flown to Moscow to consider an administrative case following his arrest on January 17. Then, on the day of Navalny’s arrival, Gresko was detained in Vnukovo. He himself claims that on that day his son was returning through Vnukovo, whom Gresko came to meet.

From Yekaterinburg, the Investigative Committee is conducting a pre-investigation check due to the incident at the rally on January 31. An unknown policeman pushed 65-year-old protester Elena Arefieva to the ground; doctors diagnosed her with a broken arm. Arefieva's interests are represented by Apology of Protest lawyer Andrei Lepekhin.
