In support of a colleague

On Sunday, January 31, 2021 he was detained and then sentenced to administrative arrest for a period of 12 days Ivan Petrovich Rygaev, a researcher at the Institute for Problems of Information Transfer named after A. A. Kharkevich RAS.

Ivan Petrovich is a famous linguist, a specialist in the field of computer semantic analysis of texts and the presentation of knowledge. The scientific work of Ivan Petrovich is devoted to the creation of the corps of the Russian language with deep semantic markings. It is one of the key participants in the project “Computer-Linguistic platform of the new generation for digital documentation of the Russian language: infrastructure, resources, scientific research”, supported by Grant of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.

In science, each prevailing and deep specialist is indispensable, and a forced break in work on the current direction can turn into long -term and even irreversible losses. We express deep concern in connection with the arrest of I.P. Rygaev.
