The head of the Irkutsk headquarters of Navalny was sentenced to restrict freedom

The justice of the peace in Irkutsk sentenced the head of the local headquarters of Navalny Sergey Bespalov to two years and eight months restriction of freedom under the article on intentionally causing harm to the health of moderate severity (part 1 of article 112 of the Criminal Code). This was reported in the telegram channel of the headquarters.

The judge agreed with the position of the prosecution and said that Bespalov caused harm to the health activist of the Prochrevsky national liberation movement (NOD) Irina Rhouses.

During the trial, Bespalov repeatedly declared his innocence. The defense provided the court with a video from which it follows that Rodzievskaya provoked a conflict, and Bespalov asked her to leave.

The prosecutor's office demanded that Bespalov appoint two years and ten months in prison with a prohibition on visiting shares.

According to the final decision, the coordinator of Navalny’s headquarters for almost three years was banned from leaving Irkutsk and attending public events.

• The fact that against the head of the headquarters of Navalny in Irkutsk Sergey Bespalov opened a criminal case of causing harm to health was known at the end of July 2020. In August, they came to him with a search.
• This is not the first time Sergey Bespalov is faced with persecution by the state. Bespalov was detained during the action on January 23, 2021. In 2018, he was arrested for 30 days under an article on a repeated violation of the rules of participation in a public event (part 8 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) due to the action “He is not a king”, which took place on May 5. And in 2017, Bespalov was arrested for seven days for organizing the election meeting of the politician Alexei Navalny with the inhabitants of Irkutsk. The meeting took place on a private territory.
