
Rare skulls from the Zoological Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences in St. Petersburg were abducted by a carpenter working there. This was reported by Interfax with reference to a source in law enforcement agencies.
According to the publication, the 50-year-old carpenter stole at the work of the skull, and then sold them to a student of the 10th grade of one of the city schools. 28 skulls were found in the carpenter’s apartment, a criminal case was opened under an article on the theft on an especially large scale.
The total amount of the stolen - about 3.5 million rubles, the police noted .
