Belarusian police detained 19 people, accusing them of participating in the rally “under the guise of skiing”

In the city of Molodechno in the Minsk region, 19 people were detained, whom the Belarusian police accused of participating in an uncoordinated action.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus, people gathered near the substation and “under the guise of skiing” staged a rally, while there was a “probability of damage to high-voltage power lines by foreign objects.”

The police noted that people used white-red-white symbols - in the colors of the flag, which has become the main symbol of the protests against Alexander Lukashenko. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the detainees "were found to have appropriate flags and streamers, a can of red paint, a smoke bomb, white-red-white umbrellas, and other protest paraphernalia."

According to Tut.by, 11 women and 8 men were detained. The human rights center "Viasna" named the names of five detainees.

Earlier it became known that the Belarusian police detained 68 people at the Ogonyok recreation center near the town of Smolevichi, where a musical concert was held. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus, “under the guise of a musical party <…> activists of destructive telegram channels gathered there,” which also used white-red-white symbols.
