The social network Parler, popular among the supporters of Donald Trump, resumed work a month after Amazon turned it off from its servers. The company returned to operation, headed by the new temporary general director, reports Business Insider.

The new temporary head of Parler was Mark Mekler, a lawyer and activist of the conservative-library “Tea Party Movement”, which arose against the backdrop of protests against the healthcare reform at Barack Obama. At his post, Mekler replaced John Father, dismissed by the Parler board in early February.

According to Business Insider, now hosting is provided by EPIK, which also serves the GAB social network, known primarily as a platform for right -winging communities. “Parler was created to provide people with a social media platform, which is on guard of freedom of speech, confidentiality and civil discourse,” Mekler said.

The American social network Parler has gained explosive popularity after Twitter blocked the personal account of Donald Trump. It was this social network that American ultra -rights used to discuss the capture of the Capitol on January 6. Against this background of Apple and Google, the Parler social network was removed from their Plat and Google Play platforms. Amazon later joined them, turning off the service from his hosting.

Experts from the USA, Great Britain and Germany claim that Parler is a source of radicalization and conspiracy theories. They called on the research community to take the service seriously and study it from the point of view of propaganda of right -wing extremism.

Researchers found that most often in the description of profiles, people used the words “conservative”, “God”, “Trump”, “love”, “Christian” and “patriot”, and among the most popular phrases were “supporter of Trump” and “proud American”. An analysis of 120 million records and 12 million Parler user accounts showed that the theory of conspiracy prevailed in discussions.
