The State Duma introduced fines for the recovery of "foreign agents" materials
The State Duma adopted in the third, final reading a bill on fines for disseminating information about "foreign agents" and their materials without indicating the status.
Amendments are made to the Code of Administrative Offenses.
For the distribution of information about “foreign agents” (individuals, NPOs and public associations) without appropriate marking, fines from 2 to 2.5 thousand rubles are provided for citizens, from 4 to 5 thousand rubles for officials and from 40 to 50 thousand rubles for legal entities, Interfax reports.
Also, fines will be threatened with NKO-foreigners if there are no labels in their materials that they are released by a “foreign agent”. For officials, the fine will amount to 100-300 thousand rubles, for legal entities-from 300 to 500 thousand rubles.
In addition, as RBC notes , the bill provides for an increase in fines of up to 5 million rubles for legal entities for the activities of the NPO-foreign agent without registration.
- Changes should come into force in early March of this year. The authors of the initiative were members of the Duma commission to investigate interference in Russia's affairs from the outside, as well as senators Andrei Klimov and Oleg Melnichenko.
