Roman Abramovich may have a new business in Russia, writes Kommersant . According to sources, the billionaire is interested in creating a luxury hotel asset with a vineyard in Gelendzhik, as well as an upscale recreation center on the shores of Lake Ladoga.
Roman Abramovich was actively interested in hotel projects in Gelendzhik and Karelia, three sources in the real estate market told Kommersant. As follows from the data of the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, in early February, the businessman registered two companies whose main activity is real estate management: Nord Estate Management Company LLC in Karelia and Yug Estate Management Company in Gelendzhik.
In Gelendzhik, Roman Abramovich considered opening a luxury hotel with a vineyard, says one of the newspaper's interlocutors. Among the most interesting venues was the Chateau de Talue. This company is controlled by Olga Tkacheva, the alleged wife of the ex-Minister of Agriculture Alexander Tkachev. Tkachev's representatives did not answer Kommersant's questions. Experts estimated the "Chateau de Tal" at 200-500 million rubles.
Abramovich's interest in Karelia was confirmed to the newspaper by three real estate consultants. According to one of them, the company bought a plot on the shore of Lake Ladoga in order to build a house for the businessman's own needs and a high-class recreational complex on the principle of a recreation center.
The cost of building a luxury hotel in Karelia and Gelendzhik is comparable and amounts to $0.5–1 million (37–74 million rubles) per room, says Stanislav Ivashkevich, partner at Ivashkevich Hospitality. Experts called the location on Lake Ladoga attractive, and the payback of the project in Gelendzhik may be doubtful, Kommersant writes.
Another businessman, Arkady Rotenberg, declared himself the beneficiary of another mansion near Gelendzhik, which Navalny called "Putin's palace". In an interview with Mash, which published a video allegedly from the same mansion, Putin's childhood friend said that an apart-hotel was being built there. About what is wrong with this version, we told here .
