The FSB reported detentions of Hizb ut-Tahrir supporters in 10 regions

The FSB carried out a large-scale operation to detain Hizb ut-Tahrir supporters in 10 regions. It is reported by TASS.

We are talking about Moscow, St. Petersburg, Primorsky and Krasnodar Territories, Bashkortostan, Dagestan, Oryol, Kaluga and Ivanovo regions, as well as Crimea.

The FSB believes that the detainees spread "militant Islamist terrorist ideology, combined with intolerance towards other religions." Criminal cases have already been opened against seven detainees.

in Crimea On February 17, six detained Crimean Tatar activists were placed in custody on suspicion of involvement in Hizb ut-Tahrir. Two of them are charged with organizing the activities of a terrorist organization (part 1 of article 205.5 of the Criminal Code), and the rest are probably involved in it (part 2 of article 205.5 of the Criminal Code).

• The Islamist party Hizb ut-Tahrir has been recognized as a terrorist organization in Russia. In various regions of Russia, as well as in the Crimea, alleged members of the party are being prosecuted for the activities of a terrorist organization. The accused are sentenced to various terms only on the basis that they held meetings and read religious literature. At the same time, the activities of Hizb ut-Tahrir are permitted by Ukrainian legislation.
• According to a number of experts, Hizb ut-Tahrir is wrongfully recognized as a terrorist organization, since its members in Russia have never advocated violence or prepared terrorist acts.
