On February 3, 2021, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation on its Yetyub-channel published a video called "behind the curtains of protest." Video lasting a little more than 17 minutes is devoted to protests that took place on January 23 and 31.
It begins with the listing of names (“Hello, Sasha, Artem, Mikhail, Daniil, Lev. Good Day to you, Masha, Sofia, Anya, Polina and Alice”), and at that time young people who look into the camera appear in the frame. “You love different clothes, various musical groups and different series,” continues a sunbathing voice, and then an interface of some messenger, similar to telegrams, appears in the frame with messages from the user Anonymous: “Hello fighter! Come to the rally! #31 January ".
Then the personnel from Moscow protests (and apart from the camera detained in these shares) are interspersed with expert comments-for example, the director of the Institute of Psychological and Social Work of Sechenov University, Maria Kiseleva (this is the wife of the TV presenter and general director of the MIA Today Dmitry Kiselev) and Yulia Matyunina, executive director of the National Parent Committee.
The orders and experts in different ways repeat one thought: teenagers are lightweight, attackers can take advantage of this. Tiktok, says Maria Kiseleva, is something like a “draft point”, where adolescents are lured “on a strike” with the techniques of the “ 25th frame type”. With such methods, according to the authors of the video, addressing directly to their audience, it is entered into unauthorized rallies, in which life can ruin their life.
The video directly indicates who, according to the authors, “calls the children to the barricades,” is Alexei Navalny. In the video there are shots from the streams of Navalny and his ally Leonid Volkov on the Utuub channel "Navalny Live". Then, in the video there are shots of the hidden shooting of the ally of Navalny Vladimir Ashurkov, who, two days before the release of the RT channel, accused of secret meetings with British diplomats (neither Ashurkov himself, nor Navalny commented on this record).
In social networks, the video began to actively spread from February 3 from the official accounts of the Investigative Committee.
Other users of social networks also began to publish the video - in subscriptions in which the TV channels RT, RIA Novosti, Tsargrad and other state and pro -government resources are related. The video was published by publics associated with the conflict in the Donbass, the video also spread through activists of the NOD movement in the regions, television channels and youth matters . The work of the Investigative Committee was actively promoted by the communities related to the police , and the official channels of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the police union and the social network of the Commissioner for Human Rights in different regions.
Around the same time, the video began to spread in educational institutions and municipal libraries . The branch of the RANEPA in Bryansk was one of the first educational institutions shared a video in the public "VKontakte". In the response to the “Medusa” request, the university reported that the video “was posted on the branch’s account as a material on urgent problems and reflecting the professional look of various specialists on the situation, in addition to other materials on this topic”.
In addition, the ROL of the SK was published in social networks of the Murom Pedagogical College. But, as the students of the educational institution told Medusa, the class teachers of the video did not send students and did not campaign to watch.
Then, district schools and standard social networks of small cities and settlements joined the spread of the video. In most cases, the video published district educational institutions, rural schools and clubs or regional portals . The number of views of the video in such social networks is extremely insignificant and is measured by dozens or even units of views.
In total, at the time of the release of this material, the clip of the UK in Yetube scored a little more than 70 thousand views. He was placed 13 thousand diesella and 2.4 thousand likes. From the moment of publication and approximately on February 14, the video under the video had the same type of laudatory comments with about the same number of likes (about 50), and the sum of likes to approving comments is approximately equal to the total number of likes to the video itself.
Using the T30P.ru service, you can see that most users constantly leave comments on other videos on similar topics - Alexey Navalny and events in Belarus - speaking from lean positions in both cases. Negative comments began to appear only on February 14; The first few hours they quickly disappeared, but then they stopped removing them.
Many personnel at the beginning of the video were shot back in 2013-2016 in Ukraine, as Medusa found out, and then loaded to the stock video platform. One of the people in the frame, who managed to identify Medusa, said that he does not cooperate with power structures, but works as a model for stock videos.
The participants in the rollers failed to establish the purchase site: most of the effluents do not carry out direct sales, and the videos are distributed by subscription. One of the authors used in the Kadrov’s video told Medusa that neither the model nor the author of stock videos can find out who is their buyer. He also noted that, according to his experience, such personnel in some cases are taken for free from various open sources, where records are illegally.
In the regions of Russia, lectures on topics related to the theme of the video were also held - on some of them it was shown on a projector. Lectures were conducted by employees of the UK, sometimes psychologists of the department participated in meetings with students.
In Balakovo, the Saratov region on February 14, for the cadets of the automobile and electromechanical college, they met on the “prevention of crime among minors”, the theses of which coincided with the content of the skate of the UK. On February 10, the Office of the Investigative Committee for the Amur Region reported on the event in the Central Library of Blagoveshchensk, at which “during a lively conversation”, the audience told about the “dangers that young people are subjected to inciting various extremist groups” and also demonstrated the “Protest Bences” video. The photo shows that in the forefront people in the form of cadets of the Ministry of Emergencies are sitting.
Another offline event with the participation of employees of the UK, which demonstrated the video “Behind the Bet of Protest”, was held on February 12 at the Magadan North-East State University (SVU). Students of the SVU told Medusa that information about the lecture was distributed through those responsible for educational work in the dean’s office - the student council was not involved in this. The initiator of the meeting, according to them, was the Investigative Committee itself.
According to students, the leadership of the ISU established a certain quota of participants from each direction. In total, students of the Institute of Social Technology, the Institute of Digital Technology and Economics and Students of the Philology Faculty were invited to the meeting. As a result, about 30 people were attended by the meeting, and most of them were students of the Faculty of Law. In an interview with Medusa, one of the students stated that the main message of the meeting was “to remember responsibility”, and he shares and “gathers in power structures”. The other called the video "absolutely useless."
Olga Lisichkina, the head of the department for extracurricular activities of the SVU, refused to comment on the details of the event on February 12 by phone and offered to make an official request; Medusa did not receive an answer to him.
By the time of the release of the material, the press service of the Investigative Committee of Russia also did not respond to the request. Maria Kiseleva refused to comment on the content of the video and suggested applying for official commentary to the leadership of Sechenov University, his answer was not received by the time of publication.
One of the experts of the video “behind the curtains of protest”, the executive director of the National Parental Committee, Julia Matyunina, agreed to answer the questions of Medusa. The day before rallies on January 23, she asked her parents to protect their children from participating in mass events - and work on the video, according to her, began a week after this rally.
According to Matyunina, the video "was made well and aimed at the formation of his own opinion and critical thinking of the undefined." And she evaluates the opinion of experts who acted in the video as an apolitical.
