FBK operator Pavel Zelensky's preventive measure was replaced with house arrest

The investigation asked to change the measure of restraint for the operator of the Anti-Corruption Fund (FBK) Pavel Zelensky and release him from the pre-trial detention center. The FBK operator is accused of inciting extremism on the Internet (part 2 of article 280 of the Criminal Code) because of two tweets. Zelenskiy wrote these messages after the self-immolation of journalist Irina Slavina in October 2020.

On February 18, FBK director Ivan Zhdanov said that Zelensky fully admitted his guilt and refused a lawyer by agreement. Zhdanov suggested that the fund operator was under pressure in the pre-trial detention center.

The next day, member of the Public Monitoring Commission Marina Litvinovich visited Zelensky. He told the human rights activist that he made the decision to plead guilty consciously, but did not give up his tweets and his position.

Zelensky explained to Litvinovich that he was counting on the possibility of easing his preventive measure: not so long ago, his mother contracted the coronavirus, so he is very interested in being at home.

Regarding the refusal of a lawyer, Zelensky said that he did not find a common language with him.

Later, the words of the FBK operator were confirmed by his wife Natalya - she tweeted about it.
