Yandex topped the ranking of the most valuable Runet companies

The Russian Forbes released the traditional rating of the most expensive Runet companies. Its leader, like last year, was Yandex, but the top 3 included new participants — Ozon and Wildberries marketplaces.

Yandex takes first place in the ranking of the 30 most expensive Internet companies in Russia according to Forbes for the third year in a row. According to the publication, the cost of "Yandex" amounted to $ 22.98 billion (+ 57%).

In second place was Wildberries worth $14.52 billion, and in third place was Ozon, which is worth $10.58 billion and has been traded on Nasdaq and the Moscow Exchange since the end of 2020. The top 5 also included Mail.Ru Group ($6.084 billion) and Avito ($4.907 billion).

This year, Forbes selected companies that provide services and generate revenue on the Internet. Therefore, it included marketplaces where they sell places on the showcase website, as well as software developers. The magazine also restricted access to the long list to companies that have more than 50% of their revenue generated outside of Russia or that have less than 50% of users in Russia.

In general, over the past coronavirus year, all companies included in the Runet rating have increased in price, the newspaper notes. Yandex, in particular, rose in price by almost $1 billion, to $23.95 billion.
