In Moscow, the Enlightener Prize was awarded for the best popular science books in Russian.
Sergey Chuprinin became the laureate in the Humanities category with his book Thaw: Events. March 1953 - August 1968. Nikolai Kukushkin, author of the book Clap with One Palm. How inanimate nature gave rise to the human mind.
In the special TeenTalk nomination for the best popular science publication for teenagers, the award was shared between Lyalya Kandaurova and Marietta Chudakova with the wording "for many years of educational work."
Also, within the framework of the award, for the first time, awards were presented for the best translations of books.
Laureates of the Illuminator Prize in both nominations - Humanities and Natural and Exact Sciences - will receive a monetary reward of 700 thousand rubles, authors of shortlisted books will receive 100 thousand rubles each, and the laureate in the special nomination TeenTalk - 75 thousand rubles.
- The Enlightener Award has been awarded since 2008. It was established by Dmitry Zimin's Dynasty Foundation, which ceased operations in 2015 after being recognized as a "foreign agent". After that, the Zimin Foundation began to support the award.
