The court extended the preventive measure for those involved in the new Bakhchisarai case of Hizb ut-Tahrir

The Kiev District Court of Simferopol extended until June 2 the measure of restraint for the defendants in the new Hizb ut-Tahrir case. It is reported by "Crimean solidarity".

Alim Sufyanov and Seyran Khairetdinov were left in a pre-trial detention center, Alexander Sizikov, a disabled person of the first group due to complete blindness, was placed under house arrest.

Sufyanov's wife, quoted by Crimean Solidarity, specified that during the meeting, "the judge and the prosecutor were busy with their own affairs, and no one paid attention to the lawyer's speech."

During the previous extension of the arrests, Sizikov complained that, due to the position of the court and the investigation, he was actually forced to survive due to the inability to leave the house.

On March 16, the Supreme Court of Crimea upheld Alexander Sizikov's house arrest. Crimean Solidarity reports that journalists were not allowed to attend the meeting.

“There is nothing to shoot here,” the court said, despite the request of Sizikov and his defense for the presence of the press.

In a conversation with the person involved in the case, the judge said that he was “surprised” by the position of the lawyers who are appealing the decision to place the defendant under house arrest, accused of a particularly serious crime.

“The position of the court was such that lawyers should be silent and not appeal anything, rejoice that a visually impaired person of the first group has a measure of restraint in the form of house arrest,” lawyer Safiye Shabanova told Crimean Solidarity.

• On July 7, the security forces conducted mass searches of the Crimean Tatars in the Bakhchisaray, Krasnogvardeisky and Simferopol regions. According to Crimean Solidarity, Emil Ziyadinov, Ismet Ibragimov, Alim Sufyanov, Seyran Khairetdinov, Vadim Bektemirov, Zekirya Muratov, as well as Alexander Sizikov, a disabled person of the first group, were detained during the investigation. They are accused of organizing or participating in the activities of a terrorist organization (parts 1 and 2 of article 205.5 of the Criminal Code). Almost all of them are involved in various criminal cases. The investigation considers Sizikov the organizer of the activities of the Hizb ut-Tahrir cell, Sufyanov and Khairetdinov as participants.
• Hizb ut-Tahrir was recognized as a terrorist organization in Russia. Its participants are accused and sentenced to real terms only on the basis that they met in apartments, read religious literature and recruited new participants.
