Law enforcement officers did not initiate a criminal case against the security officer who kicked Margarita Yudina in the stomach

Law enforcement officers refused to open a criminal case against a security official who kicked Margarita Yudina, a resident of the Leningrad region, in the stomach during a rally in support of Alexei Navalny on January 23. This is reported by "Team 29".

As the project clarifies, human rights activist Dinar Idrisov applied to initiate a criminal case. Today, after 30 days from the date of filing, he was informed that they would not hold the security officer accountable. Documents on the refusal to initiate a criminal case were not provided to Idrisov.

Idrisov submitted a statement to the police, he should have been redirected to the Investigative Committee. This did not happen - the primary material of the check was transferred to the Department of Internal Security of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for St. Petersburg, from where it was returned to the same police department.

Earlier, the victim herself also applied to the Investigative Committee with a request to prosecute an employee of law enforcement agencies. She also filed a lawsuit to recover moral and material damage from the state.

Recall that on January 23, at a rally in support of politician Alexei Navalny, one of the law enforcement officers hit 54-year-old Yudina when she asked about the reason for the detention of a young man whom the security forces were holding by the arms. Instead of answering, she received a kick and fell. The woman was taken to the emergency room. The silovik, when he apologized to Yudina, explained his actions by saying that “five minutes before that, they poured gas on him” and that his “visor was fogged up.”
