In Spain, they detained the attending physician Maria Chaadaeva

In Spain, Evgenia Blum, the attending physician of the St. Petersburg freeist, Maria Chaadaeva, whom the athlete blames in ineffective treatment for 51 million rubles, was detained. This was reported by the Investigative Committee.

In relation to the general director of the “Research Institute of Physical Rehabilitation and New Rehabilitation Technologies”, Evgenia Blum, a criminal case was opened in connection with the theft of money from Maria Chaadaeva under the pretext of the provision of rehabilitation services (part 4 of article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). According to investigators, Blum took advantage of the patient’s post -traumatic condition and convinced her to conclude an agreement on rehabilitation services worth more than 29 million rubles. However, Chaadaeva’s motor functions did not recover, since with the help of rehabilitation measures it was impossible to restore the functions of the spinal cord when Chaadaeva’s injury, writes SK.

The accusation of fraud on an especially large scale was brought in in absentia to Blum, as he is in Spain. He was also put on the wanted list and arrested in absentia. On February 11, Bluma was detained by law enforcement agencies of Spain. SK asked the Prosecutor General to send the Spanish authorities a request for the extinction of Blum for criminal prosecution.

In February 2014, on the eve of the Olympics in Sochi, the St. Petersburg Freestyle Maria Chaadaeva (Komissarova) was injured by the spine, due to which he still cannot walk. "Paper" spoke with Chaadaeva about life before and after an injury.

Chaadaeva said that Blum promised to completely restore her health, for which he took more than 51 million rubles, but according to the results of treatment, the girl was still forced to move in a wheelchair. Blum representatives stated that the amount was less, and the doctor only gave a forecast that the general condition of the athlete would improve, and did not guarantee that Chaadaev would walk. The doctor does not admit his guilt and emphasizes that he helped the athlete.
