The Russian Federation demanded the extradition of a doctor who deceived a paralyzed freestylers to Komissarov

The General Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation sent a request to Spain about the extradition of the doctor Yevgeny Blum, accused of fraud against freestylers, Maria Chaadaeva (in girlhood - commissar). Interaction with the Spanish side on the issue of its issuance continues.

According to investigators, in 2014-2015, Blum stole over 29 million rubles from the commissar, who received a fracture of the spine in training before the Olympics in Sochi. The doctor promised her a quick recovery, but she did not follow.

The doctor is accused of committing a crime under Part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud, that is, the theft of someone else's property by deception and abuse of trust, on an especially large scale), the press service of the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation reports.

In August 2020, Blum was put on the international wanted list , and on February 11, 2021 he was detained in Spain. Last week, he was released on a recognizance not to leave.

Within 40 days, Russia must submit documents for extradition, after which the court will consider the issue of issuing Blum on the merits.

Maria Komissarova received a fracture of the spine with a displacement during the 2014 Olympics in Sochi. Blum invited her to conclude a contract for a healing program worth more than 27.8 million rubles. Being a doctor of medical sciences and having sufficient work experience, the doctor knew that modern medicine could not help in restoring the athlete after such an injury.

The athlete signed an agreement for the provision of services in May 2014 and handed Bluma stipulated by the agreement the amount of money. She continued the recovery in the clinic of Dr. Blum in Spain, where she was treated in 2016 . In 2018, she sued the clinic , because classes did not lead to the promised restoration of motor functions of the legs.
