
The Russian skier Denis Spitsov broke his hand as a result of a fall in training as part of the World Championship in German Oberstdorf, where he had not yet managed to run a single race.
As reported on the website of the Russian skiing Federation , after the fall on the highway, the athlete was taken to the Doktor Johannes Huber from Kempten clinic. According to the results of the examination and performing of radiography, he was diagnosed with a fracture of the fifth metacarpal bone of the left hand.
Also, in the online mode, a medical consultation was held between the Medical headquarters of the sports team of the Russian Federation in skiing and Valentina Kalantyrskaya - the head of the Center for Microsurgery of the Cross, Reconstructive and Plastic Surgery in the Central Design Bureau of St. Alexy Metropolitan of Moscow.
According to the results of the consultation, Spitsov decided to return to Russia in the near future to undergo treatment. The restoration of the 24-year-old athlete will be about six weeks.
Denis never ran a single race at the Oberstdorf World Cup. Earlier, due to the fall in training, the tournament was completed by his colleague in the national team Sergey Ustyugov.
