
The Investigative Committee of Belarus transmitted documents to the General Prosecutor's Office for the extradition of Svetlana Tikhanovskaya. "Law enforcement officers received information that people from the closest encirclement of Svetlana Tikhanovskaya were preparing for the mass riots and seizing buildings of state bodies on the territory of Gomel. The main defendants were detained from August 6 to 8, 2020. They are charged under Part 1 of Art. 13, part 2 of Art. 293 (preparation for mass riots) and under Part 1 of Art. 13, part 1 of Art. 292 (preparation for the capture of buildings and structures) of the Criminal Code of Belarus. All of them are in custody. The Investigative Committee also stated that Tikhanovskaya was currently put on the wanted list. Documents for her extradition were transferred to the General Prosecutor's Office.
