In Altai, a local resident was fined 100 thousand rubles for speaking at a rally

The First Eastern District Military Court sentenced a resident of Gorno-Altaisk to a fine of 100 thousand rubles for speaking at a rally. This is reported on the website of the Altai Prosecutor's Office.

The man was found guilty under the article on incitement to terrorism (part 1 of article 205.2 of the Criminal Code). According to investigators, the person involved in the case spoke at a rally on March 15, 2020, “with a speech that encourages citizens to take actions aimed at forcibly seizing the existing government.”

The man pleaded not guilty. According to the prosecutor's office, the verdict has already entered into force.

They associate the deterioration of their lives and negative phenomena in the surrounding reality with the activities of Russian President Putin, ”said Maria Demina, deputy of the regional State Assembly, to the publication.
