The husband of a local activist was detained in Tatarstan. She believes this is related to her activities

In Zelenodolsk (Tatarstan), Farit Gilyazov, the husband of Gulnara Gilyazov, the chairman of the Volga and the People Against group, was detained. The activist reported this to the OVD-Info hotline.

Gilyazov was detained at the city market - the police noticed that the man's face was not wearing a protective mask. After that, Farit was taken to the police department in the Zelenodolsk district.

There, a protocol was drawn up against Gilyazov on disobedience to the demand of a police officer (Article 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) and left in the department for the night. The interlocutor of OVD-Info does not know what was the reason for this accusation - during the telephone conversation he did not have time to tell her all the information.

Gulnara Gilyazova believes that the detention of her husband is connected with her activist activities - she opposed the construction of a waste incineration plant and repeatedly participated in protests, was an observer in the presidential elections in Tatarstan.

Gilyazova added that Farit has always supported her and also participated in various activist initiatives.

“My husband is not the only one who entered the market without a mask,” Gilyazova said in a conversation with OVD-Info. The activist emphasized that earlier, through third parties, employees of the Center "E" asked her to "calm down" before the elections to the State Duma.

On March 4, Farit Gilyazov was fined 500 rubles in total under articles on disobedience to the police (Article 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) and failure to comply with the rules of conduct in the event of an emergency (Article 20.6.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). This was reported to OVD-Info by his wife Gulnara Gilyazova.

According to the woman, Gilyazov was not even taken to court: the judge reviewed his cases via video link. The detainee's lawyers were not allowed to attend the meeting.

Gulnara Gilyazova also said that the charges under Article 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses were explained by the fact that the man allegedly escaped from the hands of the officers and resisted detention. Gilyazov himself explained to his wife that the police officers wringed his hands, and he only asked them not to hurt him.

The woman noted that the employees began to treat her husband better and stopped putting pressure on him after the news of his detention was released.
