A passerby said that he witnessed the detention of headquarters volunteer Lyubov Sobol

In Moscow, the police detained a volunteer of the headquarters of Lyubov Sobol, whose name is being specified. This was reported to the OVD-Info hotline by a passer-by who witnessed the detention.

So, according to the young man, a volunteer of the headquarters was standing on the street in the Yakimanka district with a tablet for documents and a booklet about the Sobol headquarters. The interlocutor of OVD-Info stressed that the activist did not shout anything, he did not have a poster or leaflets with him.

The man decided to talk to the staff volunteer. As soon as they started talking, the police approached the activist - they said that they had received an orientation on him. The staff also stated that the volunteer allegedly chanted slogans.

Then the activist was detained and taken to the department for the Yakimanka district. Before he was put into the police car, he showed the officers a certificate stating that he had a sick grandmother in his care.

21:27 Olga Klyuchnikova, head of Sobol's campaign headquarters, told OVD-Info that the detained volunteer's name is Konstantin Polyansky. In the department, leaflets and questionnaires with a survey were confiscated from him.

They want to “charge the activist with illegal campaigning, but for now they give an obligation to report to the police for a signature,” Klyuchnikova said.

The head of the campaign headquarters noted that on March 3, the police took two other volunteers of the headquarters, Dmitry and Marina, to the department for the Tagansky district. The activists were asked to sign an obligation to appear, but they refused. After that they were released.

22:01 Klyuchnikova told OVD-Info that Polyansky had been released from the police. The head of headquarters also told what volunteers do: they interview residents about the problems of their district, inform them about the election campaign and find out their attitude towards Sobol.

Sobol is now under house arrest due to a "sanitary case" that was initiated in the wake of protests in support of Alexei Navalny on January 23.
