Mass vaccination with EpiVacCorona will begin in the second half of March

The EpiVacCorona coronavirus vaccine developed by the Vector Research Center in Novosibirsk will be available for mass vaccination from the second half of March. This was announced on the air of the TV channel "Russia 1" by the director of "Vector" Rinat Maksyutov.

“In the second half of March, our citizens will be able to get vaccinated [with EpiVacCorona],” Maksyutov said (quoted by TASS).

On March 5, Rospotrebnadzor approved the use of the EpiVacCoron vaccine for people over 60 years of age.

• EpiVacCorona is the second Russian vaccine against coronavirus. She was registered in Russia in October. So far, no study of the effectiveness of EpiVacCorona has been published in the scientific literature.
• At the moment, two more vaccines against coronavirus have been registered in Russia: Sputnik V from the Gamaleya Center and KoviVak from the Chumakov Center. So far, of all the vaccines, only Sputnik V is widely used.
