The number of people in Russia who fell ill with COVID-19 and died since the beginning of the pandemic has amounted to 200,432 people. This is evidenced by the data of Rosstat.
In 2020, 163,325 people died with COVID-19 (taking into account updated Rosstat data for December). In January 2021, according to the agency, 37,107 people died with COVID-19 (the main cause of death was the disease in 21,511 of them). There are no statistics for February yet.
According to Forbes, in January, the number of deaths of patients with covid in Russia decreased for the first time since August 2020.
According to the federal operational headquarters for combating coronavirus, 88,285 people with coronavirus have died in Russia since the beginning of the pandemic. Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova said that the different figures of the headquarters and Rosstat are due to different calculation methods.
