The reconstruction of the Mayakovsky library building on the embankment of the Fontanka River intends to be completed in late May. This was written by the "Petersburg Diary" with reference to the Construction Committee.

Now the work has been completed by 80 %, the committee said. Specialists mount the internal engineering systems, an individual thermal point, a water meter, restore the facades of the building, carry out finishing work, and also lay floor tiles, carry out the cladding of the walls of the bathrooms, equip the ceilings.

It is assumed that permission to put the facility into operation will be obtained in the middle of the year, and the library will open in the fall. The director of the institution Zoya Chalova said that comfortable navigation and coworking system will appear in the building.

A year ago, it was reported that the Mayakovsky library intends to build an underground storage for 300 thousand books during the reconstruction of the historical building on the Fontanka embankment.

After the repair, the literature department in foreign languages ​​with more than 40 thousand books was also opened in the library.
