On the afternoon of March 8 in St. Petersburg, several shares were held on International Women's Day. Some of them were directed against discrimination, some supported traditional values.
More than 100 feminists walked along Nevsky Prospekt and stood in single pickets, demanding the adoption of the law on domestic violence and freedom political prisoners. The “Party of the Dead” has arranged a photo shoot in the cemetery, drawing attention to the problem of violence against women.
At the same time, in the Catherine’s garden, several dozen men raised women in their arms, and in Kolpin, young people in the image of Stas Mikhailov sang the song “Everything for you”. "Paper" tells how these shares have passed.
At 14:00 at the Chernyshevskaya metro station, an inconsistent procession of feminists began , which was announced by the Eighth Initiative Group movement. For shares for the law on domestic violence, the release of political prisoners and the fight against female poverty gathered 100 women and men. They reached Malaya Sadovaya, singing ditties about gender inequality.

Small pickets took place on Malaya Sadovaya. The posters were devoted to the problems of gender discrimination, family and police violence, and also supported the right to use any cosmetics and feminity. Three security officials were on duty next to the protesters. More photos can be seen here .

For promotions, the picketers simply checked the documents. At the same time, the feminist and artist Katrin Nenasheva reported the detention. The activist was said that she was allegedly wanted due to the "upcoming radical event." In the video, Nenasheva replies that she did not plan such shares. After the detention, she stopped in touch.
The “Party of the Dead” also held a campaign in honor of March 8. Activists in skeletons masks took pictures in the cemetery with the posters “What are all beautiful, happy, dead”, “We will take revenge for violence even after death” and “For the patriarchy, a good woman is a dead woman.”
- Every day there are more dead women. They replenish our party not only of their own free will and not only in a “natural” way. Every day women die from domestic violence. Femicid is one of the most banal evils. And this is only the pinnacle of the pyramid of violence erected into the system of violence (state-police, economic, reproductive: women who cannot exercise their right to abortion can always join our ranks).

At the same time, the action “Support Girls”, organized by the “Volunteer Company of the Battle of Brotherhood”, which sets himself the task of patriotic education of youth, was held in the Catherine's garden. The organizers claim that in the square more than 400 men gave the girls flowers and raised their “their chosen ones” in their arms, “expressing support in the literal and figurative sense”. The photographs show several dozen participants.

But the inhabitants of our city were always famous for selflessness and hard work and therefore achieved amazing success in any activities. <...> Today, with a special trepidation, I would like to note the simpler, but so important your qualities - kindness, care and spiritual warmth. To thank for the ability to create comfort and provide support, inspire and direct.
