The Central District Military Court in Samara suspended the trial of Saratov activist Sergei Ryzhov, accused in the Artpodgotovka case. The reason for this decision was the serious illness of the accused, according to a message on the website of the court, which drew the attention of OVD-Info.
Ryzhov has been under arrest for more than three years. In January 2021, the activist was found in the hospital of the Federal Penitentiary Service, OVD-Info notes.
As reminds Mediazona , which told in detail how the Federal Penitentiary Service refuses to provide medical assistance to the activist, the traumatologist who examined Ryzhov at the request of the lawyer pointed out errors in treatment and said that he immediately needed an operation to replace damaged joints with prostheses. However, the SIZO did not carry out the operation, the court also refused to send him for a medical examination. The Federal Penitentiary Service stated that the activist needed an operation due to his non-compliance with the doctor's recommendations.
