Buckingham Palace has vowed to look into Markle's claim that some members of the royal family were concerned about the skin color of her unborn son Archie.

The royal family responded to the words of Meghan Markle, who, in an interview with American TV presenter Oprah Winfrey, said that when she was pregnant with her son Archie, some members of the royal family discussed the skin color of the then unborn boy - "how dark" it could be.

“Such issues, especially racial issues, cause concern. While some of the memories may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be treated privately by the family. Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be loved by everyone in the family," Buckingham Palace said in a statement.

The Duchess of Sussex Meghan and Britain's Prince Harry gave the first television interview after stepping down from official duties as members of the royal family the day before. In it, they talked, among other things, about the cessation of funding, problems with racism and a secret marriage. Prince Harry said he was "uncomfortable" and that he was "shocked" by questions about skin color, while he declined to specify who exactly in the royal family was interested in this issue. However, the Duchess emphasized that members of the royal family are different from "the people who run this institution", and also reported on good relations with Queen Elizabeth.
