Khabarovsk Archpriest Andrei Vinarsky was arrested for 20 days due to a gathering in the city center

The Central District Court of Khabarovsk arrested Archpriest Andrei Vinarsky for 20 days because of a meeting with other activists on Lenin Square on January 18. This is reported by the lawyer from OVD-Info Tatyana Titkova, who defended Vinarsky in court.

The archpriest was found guilty under the article on repeated violation of the rules for participation in public actions (part 8 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). He was detained the day before and left at the police station for the night before the trial.

“I believe that the court’s decision is absolutely illegal, because there is not a single piece of evidence in the materials provided to the court that Vinarsky participated in the rally,” says Titkova. - On the videos provided by the police, Vinarsky was indeed on January 18 on the square. But it was not a rally, but just a gathering of ten people who peacefully communicated with each other, and not at the government building, but in the center of the square.”

According to the police, Vinarsky participated in an uncoordinated rally in support of the ex-governor of the Khabarovsk Territory, Sergei Furgal, and politician Alexei Navalny. The defense plans to appeal the court's decision.
