A resident of St. Petersburg, Andrey Savolainen, a supporter of the ideas of "Citizens of the USSR", is being pursued by the FSB in the framework of the case under articles on calls for terrorist activities (part 2 of article 205.2 of the Criminal Code) and calls for extremism (part 2 of article 280 of the Criminal Code). He himself told OVD-Info about this.
On November 10, 2020, FSB officers came to an apartment in St. Petersburg, where Savolainen worked as a foreman. A supporter of "Citizens of the USSR" was detained and taken to the FSB department for Karelia, located in Petrozavodsk. The security forces said that Savolainen was charged with five publications on VKontakte, where the man criticized the current government. They took a written undertaking not to leave the detainee and released him at about one in the morning. Savolainen had to return on his own at night from Petrozavodsk to St. Petersburg.
On February 26, the man was charged with a new charge: the FSB representative quoted 35 publications from Savolainen's profile in which he denies the legitimacy of the political regime in the country and talks about violations of the law by the police.
The follower of Citizens of the USSR himself denies guilt in the criminal case.
