Lawyer: the owner of the apartment where the Ingush activist lives under arrest is under pressure

The owner of the apartment in Essentuki, where Zarifa Sautiyeva, accused in the “Ingush case”, is under house arrest, was visited twice by unknown persons. This is reported by the publication "Fortanga" with reference to the lawyer Magomed Bekov.

On the eve of March 12, two civilians came to the woman and asked if she knew any person from the identikit. On March 13, an unknown man on the phone asked to open the door for him, and then repeated his demand on the intercom - allegedly he wants a personal meeting for some kind of conversation.

According to the number from which the woman was called by an unknown person, the man first answered the lawyer and said that he did not hear anything, and then the phone was turned off.

“I believe that this is putting pressure on the owner of the apartment in Essentuki, with whom we have an agreement that Zarifa will live there during house arrest, so that, frightened, she terminates the agreement, and this would be a reason for returning Zarifa to the camera, ”lawyer Magomed Bekov is sure.

• Sautiyeva was transferred from the pre-trial detention center to house arrest in early March 2021, but the prosecutor’s office has already appealed this decision – allegedly, the activist can hide from the court. In the wake of the protests that took place in March 2019 in Magas, Sautiyeva is charged with organizing violence that is dangerous to the life and health of government officials (part 2 of article 318 of the Criminal Code with the application of part 3 of article 33 of the Criminal Code), as well as participation in an extremist community ( part 2 of article 282.1 of the Criminal Code).

• In September 2018, the authorities of Ingushetia and Chechnya signed an agreement to change the border between the republics, after which protests began in Ingushetia. On March 26, 2019, about 10 thousand people came to the rally in Magas. About two thousand protesters remained on the square all night. In the morning they began to be dispersed, as a result of which clashes broke out between the security forces and the protesters .
