The Kuibyshevsky District Court of St. Petersburg extended the preventive measure against Andrei Lomov, a defendant in the case of violence against a government official (Part 1 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code) at the rally on January 23. This was reported by lawyer Svetlana Ratnikova, who defends the political prisoner on behalf of OVD-Info.
Ratnikova clarified that the court decided to consider the case in a special manner without examining the evidence, since Lomov admitted guilt.
Lomov's detention was extended until September 22, 2021.
Andrey Lomov is a surveyor, father of seven children, and a participant in the January 23 action in St. Petersburg. During the trial about the appointment of a preventive measure, he said that he was beaten with batons, and he tried to defend himself from the blows.
