Igor Losik is a blogger and one of the administrators of the telegram channel “Belarus of the brain”. Today, thousands of Belarusians worry about the fate of Igor and his relatives: they write words of support to prison and are trying in every possible way to help the family - some in the word, some business.
For Igor, who, together with his wife and a tiny daughter, lived in Baranovichi, came even before the start of mass protests - June 25, 2020. Then 167 thousand people were signed on his telegram channel. Today - more than 400 thousand. The moos was accused of “organizing group actions that grossly violating public order and associated with obvious disobedience the legal requirements of representatives of the authorities” (part 1 of article 342 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus). And in December of the same year, when the maximum term for detention under this article expired, Igor was charged to Igor. This time - in “preparation for participation in the riots”, Article 293 of the Criminal Code. The blogger was left behind bars.
In protest, Igor Losik declared an unlimited hunger strike.
- Igor was tired of enduring all this lead and be a bargaining coin in political auction. It was enough for half a year to torture and bullying in inhuman conditions in a pre -trial detention center in Volodarka and in prison in Zhodino, ”wrote Igor Daria's wife in those days. - His desperate step is an extreme way to express your attitude to the creative lawlessness.
In solidarity with a political prisoner, the hunger strike was announced by Igor’s wife, two students of the Belarusian State Medical University and even a priest from Minsk.
After a month of hunger strike, Igor’s condition was seriously worsened, he was transferred to a camera with round -the -clock video surveillance. Belarusians at this time at the packs sent letters with persuasion to stop the hunger strike - "Family and loved ones need you alive."
On January 25, after 42 days, Igor handed over to the lawyer that he decided to stop the head. The reason - the political prisoner was shocked by a wave of solidarity and requests of hundreds and thousands of Belarusians to stop to wait for a common victory.
The other day, fear for Igor Losik’s life again stirred up the whole country.
On March 11, the political prisoner was charged. After the prosecution, right in front of the investigator and lawyer, Igor tried to open his veins, and then announced the beginning of a dry hunger strike.
Shortly before this, Minsk woman Veronika Govorushkina posted on her page on social networks a letter from Igor Losik, which can be seen: the blogger is in an extremely depressed state.
From a letter from Igor Losik
“I don’t have illusions, I think it will be five years old, and there I will bent. There is no desire to do anything, so many things have been done, and everything is in vain, nothing affects anyone [...] standard practice over the past 27 years, and again no one was ready for this. Therefore, everything will pass, as always. Everyone will sit down, the rest will leave or subside. Russia will help with money, and so for several years. Therefore, I’m trying to just prepare for this somehow, because I am tired of waiting and hoping for the good, and in response every week for eight months is only worse and worse [...].
I do not want Dasha (we are talking about Igor Losik’s wife. - O. I. ) at the trial saw and heard such a sentence. It would be better to be just shot quickly, and not to see it all. ”
Immediately after the incorporation of the next charge and attempts by Igor, the wife of Blogger Daria Losik recorded a bold video message, in which she addressed Lukashenko and after which Igor Losik was again spoke not only in Belarus, but also far beyond its borders.
QUOTE
“Remember, at the end of September I said that, creating inhuman conditions of detention and inventing ridiculous accusations to my husband, you can go too far? It looks like she was too overcame. And today one of the investigators could see for this personally when right before his eyes my husband began to cut his hands, trying to say goodbye to life. Fortunately, he was stopped in time. But, apparently, he is not going to stop. After the incident, Igor announced the beginning of a dry hunger strike. This is the extreme step that Igor was forced to go. My husband’s motives are banal and simple: this is a tremendous lawlessness that he encountered. ”
The girl assures that for her husband she is ready to fight to the end: “I am ready to meet and talk with anyone, including Alexander Grigoryevich Lukashenko. I am ready to answer all his questions, simultaneously receiving answers to my own and to the main question: what is my husband for nine months in prison?! ”
- Daria, what new prosecution are we talking about?
- Igor’s lawyer cannot talk about this. He is under the subscription of non -disclosure. Judging by Igor’s act, a new accusation is even more difficult and entails a longer term of imprisonment. The previous prosecution suggested a term of 3 to 8 years. Apparently, for Igor it was a trigger.
- In what conditions is Igor?
- At the end of September, Igor was put in a tiny camera in a basement in a basement, in which only a couple of steps could be taken.
This camera was more like a public toilet: a terrible smell, a toilet near the window of food, the drain does not work. Plus, a cellmate with pediculosis was hooked on him.
In such inhuman conditions, Igor spent 40 days. Then he was transferred to another camera. There were better conditions.
After trying to open the veins (he tried to make it with a metal buckle from the watch strap) and the refusal of Igor’s food was placed in a punishment cell. And this is in his state when he had not yet had time to move away from the first hunger strike! I hope that physically he holds on, but I am sure that psychologically it is very difficult for him.
-Do you really hope that after your appeal directly to Lukashenko, some answer from there can follow?
- I don't know. But on my own personally, I will do everything so that the situation with Igor is as vowel as possible and at least somehow moves out of the dead point. I still demand a meeting with Alexander Lukashenko to ask him his questions and answer all his questions, if he, of course, has them. My main question is: why, being innocent, Igor is still in prison?
- How do you hold on, where do you take strength?
- Where does the strength come from, I myself do not know. I think this is all love.
I try to keep the brain as clear as possible and reasoning rationally, because at the moment I am exactly the person who is fighting for Igor, and I will not stop doing this. It doesn’t matter what it will be fraught to me.

Our child is a two -year -old daughter Paulin - still small. I still do not explain the details to her. Yes, she is unlikely to understand them now. But it is still unbearable for me to watch how my daughter hugs the phone, because there is a photo of Igor. Almost from the first days, after they came to us,
Paulina approached the door and said: "Dad uncle." So, "Dad took his uncles." She was at home when he was taken.
Igor’s parents worry everything is quite difficult, especially difficult to endure news about hunger strikes. But we are now as much as possible together, they are always next to me and Paulina.
- Do you think his attempt to open the veins is a step of despair or a call to pay attention to the situation with political prisoners and the conditions for their detention?
- All together. I know Igor perfectly. He is a serious person and he was not used to throwing words into the wind. He was already starving for 42 days. This is a long time. And judging by what step he went now, I understand that his intentions are serious. It's already about life and death.
- Are international organizations connected with you, do you feel support?
- At the moment, the most ordinary people turn to me, they offer me and our family all kinds of help. Thanks to them for this huge. So far, international organizations have not got in touch with me, but I know for sure that after my video message, conversations about Igor are now being conducted not only in Belarus.
- In the video message you said that you would go to the end. What did you mean?
- It is unlikely that they will let me in to Lukashenko. But I'm definitely not going to calm down. I will knock everywhere
I will talk a lot about Igor, I will write letters. I will punch this soil as much as possible.
- How often do you write letters to Igor? Do they get to him at all?
- I write almost every day. There are problems with letters. I can get several letters from him in a week, but I can not get a single two to three weeks. It all depends on how censorship works there.
- What does Igor write about you about? Asks to hold on?
- To be honest, both Igor, and I already hate the word "hold on." So many times he has already heard him ... He writes:
“I will not ask you to hold on, let's live this situation, because in any case you have to somehow save yourself.”
In general, the letters are very different. He mainly writes that he is madly bored, worries that he missed so many months of his daughter’s life. And it is still unknown how much it will miss. He so dreamed of hearing Paulina to speak! Sometimes in letters it is felt that he is holding, and sometimes a very large sediment in the soul from his words. Emotional swing with him and I still have those.
For all the time that Igor Losik is behind bars, Dasha was never allowed to see him. All refusals in a date - without explanation of the reasons.
The only thing that at least somehow encourages a family of political prisoners now is that Igor nevertheless stopped dry hunger strike.
“Do not die for the joy of enemies,” says Daria.
- On the example of Igor and other political prisoners, we see that no one pays attention to those extreme measures that are political prisoners today. A man dies behind bars, and they do not care. It is in such conditions that people contain in prisons under Lukashenko: torture, bullying and a complete absence of laws. This is real fascism.
