In the city of Teykovo, Ivanovo region, a criminal case was opened against a 57-year-old Jehovah's Witness, whose name is unknown, for financing an extremist organization (Part 1 of Article 282.3 of the Criminal Code). The SOVA information and analytical center writes about this.
According to investigators, a local businessman who participated in the activities of the local religious organization Jehovah's Witnesses collected funds for its functioning from January 2018 to February 2020 and made such donations himself. The reason for initiating the case, SOVA reports, was a transfer in the amount of 200 rubles.
The believer is under recognizance not to leave.
It is assumed that Anatoly Lyamo became a defendant in the case. In April 2020, he and three other Jehovah’s Witnesses in Teykovo were searched as part of a case of organizing the activities of an extremist organization (Part 1 of Article 282.2 of the Criminal Code), and investigators came to four more addresses for questioning.
