A participant in single pickets against the persecution of Crimean Tatars was detained in St. Petersburg

On Nevsky Prospekt in St. Petersburg, Asan Mumdzhi, a participant in a series of single pickets "Strategy-18", was detained. This was reported to OVD-Info by his public defender Ilya Tkachenko.

Mumji was taken to police station No. 78 in St. Petersburg. Probably, they are going to charge him with an administrative article on violation of the self-isolation regime (Article 8.6.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of St. Petersburg).

22:15 Asan Mumji was released from the police department with a protocol under Article 8.6.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of St. Petersburg, Ilya Tkachenko said.

• "Strategy-18" is an indefinite protest action in support of the Crimean Tatar activists, announced in Moscow and St. Petersburg. The name is associated with a memorable date: on May 18, 1944, the deportation of Tatar families began in the Crimea, during which many died before reaching their places of exile. Participants of the "Strategy-18" are regularly detained during peaceful protests.
