The court fined... O. coordinator of Navalny's Irkutsk headquarters because of the march in support of political prisoners

The Kirovsky District Court of Irkutsk fined Zakhar Sarapulov, the acting coordinator of Navalny's local headquarters, for a march in support of political prisoners that took place on October 10, 2020. this Sarapulov announced on his Facebook.

The court did not accept the arguments that the activist was at the event as a journalist with a press card and an editorial assignment. He was fined 15 thousand rubles under the article on violation of the procedure for holding the event (part 5 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses), indicated on the website of the court.

• Zakhar Sarapulov is an Irkutsk activist. In 2019, he and a comrade-in-arms were attacked by unknown people when the activists were handing out newspapers of an opposition candidate to the City Duma. The Ministry of Internal Affairs refused to open a criminal case on the fact of the beating.
