Convicted in the Hizb ut-Tahrir case, his detention in a punishment cell was extended for another 20 days

The administration of Colony No. 2 in Bashkortostan extended for five days the detention of Crimean Tatar Teymur Abdullaev, who is serving a sentence in the case of Hizb ut-Tahrir, in a punishment cell. It is reported by "Crimean solidarity".

The mother of the prisoner, Dilyara Abdullayeva, said that he continues to have health problems: he suffers from headaches and high blood pressure. The lawyer managed to consult Abdullayev and give him a tonometer and medicines. They will be kept in the medical unit. He was also given bed rest.

Teymur Abdullayev was transferred to correctional colony No. 2 in Salavat (Bashkortostan) in the spring of 2020 to serve his sentence. Immediately after his arrival, he was sent to a punishment cell, where he spent 141 days, until he was transferred to a cell with strict conditions in August. Later, Abdullayev was again returned to the ShIZO and continued to extend the period of his stay there. Crimean Solidarity notes that he spent about a year in the isolation ward. For what reason Abdullayev is in the ShIZO, relatives are not informed.

On March 29 , the mother of political prisoner Dilara Abdullayeva reported that her son's detention in the ShIZO had been extended for another 15 days. “On the phone, I managed to find out that my son received a punishment for another 15 days for violating the internal regulations. Is it really necessary to prove that everything is arranged there in such a way that it is impossible not to break something. Everyone knows how this happens and who gives these instructions to rot in the ShIZO and for what? Do I need to prove it? The only thing unclear is what they are trying to achieve, the death of my son?” Abdullaeva writes on Facebook.

• The defendants in the Hizb ut-Tahrir Simferopol case were convicted in 2019 under articles of involvement in a terrorist organization. After the appeal, the terms were: Teymur Abdullayev - 16.5 years, Rustem Ismailov - 13.5, Uzeyir Abdullayev - 12.5, Emil Dzhemadenov and Ayder Saledinov - 11.5 years in a strict regime colony.
• Five defendants in the case were detained in November 2016 after a series of searches in the homes of Crimean Tatars. In December of the same year, Saledinov, Ismailov and Uzeyir Abdullayev stated that they were beaten by FSB officers while being transported to the investigation.
• Hizb ut-Tahrir was recognized as a terrorist organization in Russia. In this regard, criminal cases are initiated in different regions of the country, while the defendants are sentenced to various terms in a strict regime colony only on the basis that they met in apartments, read religious literature and spread their ideas. According to a number of experts, Hizb ut-Tahrir was unlawfully recognized as a terrorist organization, since its members in Russia did not prepare or carry out terrorist acts.
