Putin's nephew created the Putin Support Committee

The Russian President's cousin Roman Putin created the Vladimir Putin Support Committee, RIA Novosti reports, citing Roman Putin's press service.

“This all-Russian organization will be called upon to unite all citizens of the country with an active life position who support the course of development taken by Russian President Vladimir Putin,” said representatives of Roman Putin.

The new organization is going to monitor the “execution of presidential decrees” and “restore order” in housing and communal services, medicine and education, as well as engage in patriotic and sports education for young people. The Putin Support Committee plans to create branches in all regions of Russia.

The Kremlin has not yet commented on Roman Putin’s initiative.

• Roman Putin is the son of President Igor Putin's cousin. He served in the FSB, in 2012 he became an adviser to the governor of the Novosibirsk region on a voluntary basis, but was fired a year later. He owns several companies and has headed the trustee fund of the Russian Taekwondo Federation since 2013.
• In 2014, Roman Putin founded the company Putin Consulting Ltd in London, but then re-registered it in Russia as Putin Consulting LLC. Vedomosti wrote that the company helps businessmen prepare for tenders and get the desired government contract, and if successful, takes from 3% to 10% of the tender volume. In a conversation with the publication, Roman Putin, answering a question about the importance of a surname in the consulting business, said: “The name is not very important, but the surname is everything.”
• In March 2020, Roman Putin announced plans to create a pro-presidential political party. In June he was elected leader of the People Against Corruption party. Soon, the Ministry of Justice demanded the liquidation of this party due to the fact that it had not participated in elections for seven years in a row, and in November the Supreme Court upheld the ministry’s claim. In December, Roman Putin created the “Russia without Corruption” party.
