Jury comment:
For the Russian opera process, as for the world, the “covid” year turned out to be a huge test. This led to the reaction of the Casta Diva award - its new, largely forced position. Since theaters, in fact, ceased to release the premieres for the first time, it was decided to miss 2020 in the nomination “The performance of the year”.
In the nominations, “The singer/singer of the year of the jury allocated Nadezhda Pavlov and Nazhmiddin Mavlyanov for vivid work in the inextricable production of Sadko Bolshoi Theater (director Dmitry Chernyakov).
Lisa Davidsen and Christian Herhaer leads in the nomination of the “best foreign singers” as outstanding and versatile singers-actors, interpreters of the most difficult roles in the leading world scenes.
