"Garage" opens three exhibitions

Today, March 26, the museum of contemporary art “garage” in Moscow begin the work of the exhibition that will present documentary reconstruction of unrealized projects, the thoughts of Russian artists about speculation and “coronate” and video work of the Belgian artist David Clarbaut.

At the exhibition “Present, imperfect species” in the Western Gallery of the museum you can see documentary reconstruction of unrealized ideas, such as the dance floor project, which architect Igor Pyatkin proposed to build a “hexagon” in the Gorky Park, the plan of the red-hot design of the Red Square of Francisco Infante-Arana, and the plan of publication of the “Museum of desires”-collections-collections-collections-collections-collections-collections. The organizers received more than a thousand applications, 33 were selected to participate in the exhibition. These are artists and art groups from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Ust-Kut, Grozny and Tuapse. “The exhibition will present the widest range of forecasts, insights, scenarios, converted not only to the future, but also offering options for the past and present,” says one of the project curators Yaroslav Volovod.

Also in the Garage the first personal exhibition of David Clarbaut in Russia, “Invisible Sound” opens today. It presents the works of 2007-2016, exploring the phenomenon of “dark optics” - this term artist means the current state of the image.

“Clarbout creates“ hybrid ”works, dissolving some mediums in others, the organizers of the exhibition noted. “Using a video, photography, cinema and 3D technologies, he creates images that challenge the perception and expectations of the viewer.”
