Yevgeny Grigoriev, a representative of United Russia, was elected the new mayor of Yakutsk.
Based on the results of processing 96.72% of the protocols, Grigoriev receives 44.09% of the votes. His main competitor, Vitaly Obedin, nominated by A Just Russia, is gaining 39.87%.
Grigoriev has already been congratulated by the head of Yakutia, Aisen Nikolaev, and the former mayor, Sardana Avksentiev. Obedin, in turn, admitted his defeat and offered "a huge apology to everyone whose hopes he did not justify."
