Manufacturers of tractors and other agricultural machinery do not have enough railway platforms for its export, since the military took them to their needs, Kommersant reports .
According to the sources of the publication, on March 26, during a meeting with the first deputy head of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Ministry of Agriculture of Jambulat Khatuov, the representative of the St. Petersburg Tractor Plant complained that the federal (FGK, part of the Russian Railways OJSC) and the first (PGK of Vladimir Lisin), cargo companies refuse to provide the necessary railway platforms - they are required to export finished equipment for 8-2 10 platforms per day. Companies are explained by the fact that the necessary platforms are involved in the transportation of military and special loads.
Two sources confirmed the publication that the platforms were requested by the military, but did not specify how much. The Ministry of Defense did not respond to the official request of Kommersant, but the source in the department said that the Ministry of Defense did not require a large number of platforms for themselves - the need for large -scale transfer of military equipment arises only with planned strategic exercises that usually take place in the summer.
Dmitry Baban from SBS Consulting informed Kommersant that the shipments of agricultural machinery are now intense, because field work will begin in many regions. In his opinion, the deficiency of platforms can lead to a decrease in demand for new equipment and an increase in imports.
