The director of the Corruption Foundation (FBK) Ivan Zhdanov wrote on Facebook about the arrest of his father, 66-year-old Yuri Zhdanov, in the framework of a criminal case of exceeding official powers.
Zhdanov said that on March 26, in the morning, a search was held at home at home in Rostov-on-Don. Then Zhdanov Sr. was sent for interrogation and detained before the court as they stop. The next day, the court sent him to the pre -trial detention center until May 21. The case was opened under the article on excess of official powers (part 1 of article 286 of the Criminal Code).
According to investigators, working in the administration in the village of Seekers in the Nenets Autonomous Okrug (Arkhangelsk Region), Zhdanov’s father, as part of the housing commission, recommended that the head of the village allocate an apartment to a woman under a social employment agreement. Later it turned out that this family had already received a housing subsidy. The contract was terminated, the administration returned the apartment by court.
“I have no doubt that this criminal is connected with me and what I am doing,” said Ivan Zhdanov. He noted that a year ago, an audit on this occasion did not reveal violations, and the head of the village, whose order was allocated an apartment, did not become a defendant in the criminal case.
In which pre -trial detention center is Yuri Zhdanov is still unknown.

Lawyer Denis Nikolayenko told MBH Media how the search and interrogation with Yuri Zhdanov was held. The search began at about 7 in the morning, but the man was not allowed to immediately contact his lawyer. They seized objects that are not related to a criminal case: the phones of him and family members, some documents, all electronic media, the defender noted.
During the interrogation in the management of economic security, Zhdanov-Sr. became ill due to hypertension, he was called an ambulance. But the court did not take into account this circumstance when choosing a preventive measure.
The lawyer Nikolayenko noticed inconsistencies in the case file. So, according to investigators, Yuri Zhdanov provided a dwelling to a local resident, knowing that she had already received a subsidy, and no one else was present at the commission meeting. However, Zhdanov himself claims that he did not know that the subsidy had already been issued. In addition, the housing commission does not give out an apartment, but only makes a decision of a recommendatory nature. And the participants in the meeting of the commission even remembered the phrase “I would have the same apartment, I would be glad” from the participant in the meeting of the housing commission, which testifies that she was not there.
On April 7, the Rostov Regional Court upheld the arrest of Yuri Zhdanov, the Caucasian Knot reports .
