Everything that was possible was seized: electronic media, laptops, flash cards, hard drives, documents. They took everything. None of these items are related to the criminal case. Yuri Pavlovich was not allowed to call the lawyer. He called me only after the search and I learned everything that was happening from his words and from investigative documents. I was allowed to go to Zhdanov for interrogation. It began at 15 o’clock in the building of the Office for Combating Economic Crimes, the investigator from Arkhangelsk interrogated. And it lasted without interruption until nine o’clock in the evening, charged under Part 1 of Art. 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("excess of official powers").

Yuri Zhdanov lived in the village of Seekers, behind the polar circle where oil was produced. After retirement, he moved to the city of Aksai, Rostov Region. In the village of Schoolmakers, Zhdanov, before retiring, worked in the housing commission under the local administration.

According to the prosecution, on July 2, 2019, on the basis of the recommendations of the Housing Commission, a decree of the head of the village on the allocation of housing to the local deputy of the uninstall, Julia Vetrovova, was issued. This housing was returned back to municipal property on the basis of a court decision, since previously Vetrova received monetary compensation instead of the living space. The administration of the village itself filed a lawsuit in the court to declare this transaction invalid. The court satisfied the claims.

The economist of the village administration Nadezhda Ivanova remembers Yuri Zhdanov.

“He was a simple leader,” Ivanova says. - I can’t say anything bad or good about him, we did not intersect with him at work. When he left, nothing has changed. People are often leaving now - because they stopped swinging oil. We had many companies, Lukoil worked well, but now - no. People therefore leave. There are no conditions here for life. It is especially bad with water - there is no central water supply, even their own wells did not boil when they built the village. Since then we are suffering.

The arrest of the father of the opposition policy will not affect the life of the polar village, the locals are sure.

Because medicines can be given only if there is a prescription of the doctor of the investigative insulator, and there are no doctors in pre -trial detention center No. 5, there is only a paramedic. And it is quite difficult to get to the paramedic, it is not fast, and an elderly person is all this time without medication. Zhdanov wants to be transferred to the Arkhangelsk insulator on a train converted for the transportation of prisoners. There are even more inhuman conditions. A coup, converted under cages, welded metal beds and tables, where a huge number of people are transported, and even with transfers.
